How do I request a quote and what files do you need?
To get an accurate quote upload your Gerber files or BOM (for assembly) via our online quoting tool, or email them to [email protected]. For PCB-only quotes, send standard Gerber RS-274X files and a drill file. For PCBA, include the BOM (CSV or XLSX), pick-and-place (XY) file, and any assembly drawings or notes.
What is the typical lead time for prototypes and production?
Lead times vary by quantity and complexity. Typical PCB prototype turns start at 24–72 hours for standard FR4 1–2 layer boards. Multilayer, heavy copper, or controlled-impedance boards require longer (5–14 business days). For PCBA, assembly lead time depends on component sourcing; if Philifast sources parts expect an additional 3–10 business days.
What materials and board types do you manufacture?
Philifast manufactures boards using common materials: fr4 (including halogen-free), fr4 high Tg, Rogers/high-frequency laminates, metal-core (aluminum/copper), ceramic substrates, and flex/rigid-flex constructions. We support single-sided through multilayer boards (up to customer-specified stackups), heavy copper, and controlled impedance.
What are your minimums (MOQ) and maximum board sizes?
Minimums: Many prototype services accept 1 PCS; for specialized processes (FPC, rigid-flex) MOQs may apply. Standard maximum panel size is 500×500 mm but can vary by process and material. Contact us if you need very large panels or small batch specialized runs.
What manufacturing tolerances and track/space capabilities do you offer?
Standard capabilities: minimum trace/space down to 4/4 mil on standard fr4. For HDI and advanced processes we can go to 3/3 mil or better depending on layer count and surface finish. Minimum drill size for mechanical holes typically 0.3mm; microvias are supported in HDI stacks. Ask for capability sheets for exact tolerances per process.
Which surface finishes and solder mask colors do you support?
Standard finishes: HASL (lead-free), ENIG (gold), OSP, Immersion Silver, Immersion Tin. Solder mask colors: green (default), red, blue, black, white, yellow — custom colors available on request. Silkscreen can be white or black by default.
What quality certifications do you hold?
Philifast maintains ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 processes across relevant facilities and follows RoHS/REACH compliance for materials. We offer IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610 inspections on request and can support UL and other customer-required certifications for specific projects.
What electrical and functional tests do you provide?
Standard tests: 100% electrical test (flying probe) for prototypes, in-circuit testing (ICT), functional testing (FCT), automated optical inspection (AOI), X-ray for BGA inspection. We can also provide burn-in, environmental stress testing, and custom test fixtures for volume production.
Do you source components or should I provide them?
Both options are available. If you supply parts, provide a complete, validated BOM and package images where possible. If Philifast sources parts, we will quote component cost and lead times — note that global shortages may extend procurement lead times. We report component sources on request and can prefer approved vendors.
How do you handle component shortages and substitutions?
When a component is unavailable we notify you and suggest equivalent alternatives (with datasheets) for approval. For long-term contracts we can maintain safety stock or suggest redesign options to reduce single-source risk.
What is included in the quoted price for PCBA?
PCBA quotes typically include board fabrication, stencil (if required), placement/setup fees, labor for SMT and through-hole work, basic testing (AOI/flying probe), and component procurement if requested. Freight, customs, extended testing, and special packaging are usually charged separately — these items are shown on the proforma invoice.
Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?
Changes are possible before production starts. Once the order moves into fabrication or procurement, cancellations may incur fees equal to materials purchased and labor spent. Contact support immediately to discuss options.
What shipping methods and Incoterms do you support?
We ship via express couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS), sea freight, and air freight. Common Incoterms are FOB, CIF, DAP — specify your preferred terms when requesting a quote. Duties and local import taxes are not included unless otherwise specified in the contract.
Can you provide custom packaging, labeling, and kitting?
Yes. We offer custom labeling, bagging, taping, and kitting services for assembly orders. For high-volume production, we can design packaging to meet your retail or warehouse requirements.
Do you manufacture RoHS / lead-free boards?
Yes — we support RoHS-compliant processes and lead-free soldering by default. If your product requires leaded processes for legacy components, discuss this with our engineers; special handling and declarations will apply.
How do you protect my design and IP?
Philifast signs NDAs on request and uses role-based access controls internally to protect designs. Files are stored in secured systems and access is limited to project personnel. Discuss specific IP protections with your account manager for additional contractual measures.
What warranty do you provide and how are defects handled?
We warranty workmanship against manufacturing defects for a defined period (typically 90 days) and will repair or replace defective units after failure analysis confirms factory fault. For volume production, warranty terms can be included in the contract.
Do you offer DFM/DFT review services?
Yes. Philifast provides DFM/DFT feedback to improve yield and reduce cost. Upload your design and we will highlight panelization, assembly issues, component placement concerns, and test point recommendations.
Can you do conformal coating, potting, or chassis assembly?
Yes. We provide conformal coating, selective coating, potting, and final product integration (box build) services. For chassis-level assembly and mechanical integration, provide mechanical drawings and acceptance criteria.
